Industrial Abstraction

2021

For this series I am showing an esthetic about cities and infrastructure that is often, completely overlooked and underappreciated. I believe that we can truly find beauty in most things even if we have to consciously try to appreciate and experience it. There is often a negative tone around large cities, with the grunge of them and the lack of nature and therefore, natural beauty. I chose to focus on the small and interesting details that are often overlooked and encourage the viewer to slow down and explore each photograph with a different perspective.

I want this series to portray a level of appreciation for what it is. For what it takes to create infrastructure in general, from the science behind it, to the actual creative designs. And for the context that it is in and the purpose that it serves.

In Isolation

2020

When considering different aspects of this historical time with Covid-19, I wanted to present a series of photographs that touch on the isolation aspect of this pandemic, particularity solitude. When the distractions of day to day life stops we are left with ourselves and can easily shift our focus to us, both our mind with our mental self and our physical self. With my project, I chose to create photographs that depict angels and parts of a human body that would not traditionally be idealized and depict them in interesting and beautiful ways.

Untitled

This series started as an emulation of Francesca Woodman’s work and had helped shaped my style and focus as an artist. This series evolved into a works focusing around mental health that I have continued to explore throughout my work.
